Providence Woman Charged With Food Stamp Fraud: Cops

The Providence woman was also charged with obtaining more than $10,000 worth of property through false pretenses, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Cranston woman was charged with food stamp fraud, police said.

Linda Carrasquillo Delgado, 65, was arrested about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday on charges of obtaining more than $10,000 worth of property by false pretenses or personation, fraudulently obtaining more than $500 in public assistance, and the fraudulent use of more than $500 worth of food stamps, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Carrasquillo Delgado was arrested at her Cranston Street home, the release said.

Carrasquillo Delgado was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned provided with a court date, according to the release.
