Woman Found Dead In Car Parked On Rhode Island College Campus

The woman was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene

PROVIDENCE, RI — A woman was found dead in a car parked on the campus of Rhode Island College.

About 6:15 p.m. Monday, police officers responded to the campus of Rhode Island College for a welfare check,

Kristy dosReis, the chief public information officer for the Providence Department of Public Safety, said in an email.

"Upon arrival, they located an unresponsive adult female inside a vehicle parked on campus," dosReis said. "The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene."

The death remains under investigation.

"At this time, there is no indication that the individual or the circumstances surrounding her death are connected to Rhode Island College, and there is no known threat to the campus community," dosReis said.
