Pawtucket Resident Wanted On Shoplifting, Conspiracy Charges Nabbed: Cops (patch.com) β State police say a 23-year-old Pawtucket resident wanted on shoplifting and conspiracy charges was stopped and arrested just after midnight on Elmwood Avenue in Providence. After being processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, the suspect was turned over to Warwick police on the outstanding charges.

2. Providence Woman Charged With DUI: Cops (patch.com) β Rhode Island State Police report that a 29-year-old Providence woman was arrested on Dean Street in Providence on suspicion of DUI and for allegedly refusing a chemical test. She was processed at the Scituate Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released to a responsible adult with a future Providence court date.

3. FM takes over huge Providence building for a home base (newportri.com) β A major downtown landmark at 10 Memorial Blvd., across from Providence Place, has been bought by commercial insurer FM, which will turn it into a key home base while keeping existing tenants. The company plans extensive interior renovations, expects a few hundred employees on-site, and cites proximity to the train station, hotels, and restaurants as reasons to deepen its investment in Providence.

4. Major upgrades planned for Providence Place movie theater (wpri.com) β Providence Place's Apple Cinemas is set for a multimillion-dollar overhaul that will add luxury recliners, upgraded sound and projection, and new food, drink, and entertainment options. Plans include a SCREENX auditorium, revamped lobby and bar, and potential interactive attractions, turning the downtown theater into an all-evening destination for city moviegoers.

5. The results are in! Here's who won Wednesday's high school games in RI (newportri.com) β Rhode Island high school teams, including several from Providence and nearby communities, wrapped up a busy Wednesday with close soccer battles, dominant field hockey wins, and strong tennis and volleyball showings. East Providence, Moses Brown, La Salle, Classical, and others are highlighted, and there's also a full schedule of tonight's games so local fans can plan where to cheer next.
