CT Woman Charged With DUI After Hit-And-Run Crash In Providence: Cops (patch.com) — Providence drivers may want to note a late-night hit-and-run crash on I-95 that led to DUI and accident-related charges against a 24-year-old Connecticut woman, according to state police. Troopers say she was arrested around 1 a.m., processed at headquarters, and released pending a future court arraignment.

Providence Man Charged With Driving On A Suspended License: Cops (patch.com) — Police say a 36-year-old Providence man was stopped on Manton Avenue and charged with driving on a suspended license, highlighting ongoing traffic enforcement in city neighborhoods. He was processed at state police headquarters and brought to Sixth District Court for arraignment.
3. Warwick Man Charged With DUI: Cops (patch.com) — Providence residents are learning more about an early-morning DUI arrest after state police say a 45-year-old Warwick man was stopped on Sorrento Street around 2:30 a.m. Friday. He was charged with driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test, then processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held for morning arraignment.
4. Providence rent stabilization push springs back to post-primary life (housingwire.com) — Providence could soon revisit a 4% annual cap on rent increases, after two councilors who opposed the measure lost their seats and rent-stabilization supporters gained ground. With David Morales poised to become mayor and statewide housing reforms in flux, the city may become Rhode Island's only community with rent stabilization while a new governor advances a major housing plan.
5. Retired Providence fire chief recounts responding to Ground Zero (wpri.com) — A retired Providence battalion fire chief shares how he and 11 city firefighters rushed overnight to Ground Zero after the Sept. 11 attacks, helping support New York crews and victims' families. His memories highlight the contrast between typical Providence fires and the unimaginable devastation they encountered, and how local responders improvised to provide equipment, transportation, and emotional support.
