PROVIDENCE, RI — A man working at a construction site in downtown Providence Tuesday afternoon has died after suffering a medical episode and collapsing, according to multiple reports.

Police responded to the Omni Hotel on Sabin Street around 2:30 p.m., after the worker collapsed while working on some scaffolding 40 feet in the air, WPRI reported.

The worker was treated at the scene then taken to the hospital, where he died, the outlet added.

The maximum temperature in Providence Tuesday was reported to be 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat of the day would have been about the time the incident occurred.

A police report obtained by WJAR said that the victim was from Pawtucket and worked for DHC Services Corp.
