MA Man Pleads To Possessing Firearm In Rhode Island
The Massachusetts man fled a traffic stop in Providence, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Massachusetts man pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm and ammunition in Rhode Island.
Everton Luis Teixeira Da Silva, 23, also pleaded guilty to unlawful entry to the United States, according to a media release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Teixeira Da Silva's sentencing was scheduled for May 14.
The Providence police pulled Teixeira Da Silva over in August but he "fled from officers on foot and during the pursuit, he discarded a firearm," according to the release.

"The weapon was later recovered by police and identified as a green 9 mm pistol, loaded with six rounds and had an obliterated serial number," the release said.
Teixeira Da Silva was "apprehended and investigators determined that he entered the United States unlawfully," according to the release.
