Man Shot To Death Early Monday In Providence's 2nd Homicide Of 2026
The 20-year-old man was found shot in the head on Swift Street near Silver Spring Street.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A man was shot to death early Monday in Providence's second homicide of 2026.
Officers investigating a report of a man down on Swift Street near Silver Spring Street found Joseph Ramos, 20, mortally wounded shortly after 2:15 a.m., Kristy dosReis, the chief public information officer for the Providence Department of Public Safety, said in an email.
Ramos had been shot in the head, dosReis said.

"Police said Ramos had been riding a three-wheeled motor bike at the time of the incident," according to dosReis.
"Ramos was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead," she said. "The investigation remains ongoing."
