National Grid Repairs Providence Gas Leak

PROVIDENCE, RI — A gas leak was reported at the corner of Charles and Jasper Streets on Wednesday afternoon. Crews are at the scene and repairs are expected to be completed before the end of the day, National Grid said.

According to a National Grid spokesperson, no customers were impacted by the leak. The line is expected to be fully repaired within the next few hours, she said.

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority detoured all buses on Route 51. Outbound buses are detoured to Branch Avenue, then right on Langdon Street, right on Raphael Street before returning to Charles Street. Inbound buses follow the same detour in the opposite direction.
