Police Identify Pedestrian Killed On I-95

Troopers are investigating a fatal accident in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Providence on Monday. A pedestrian was killed at approximately 7:55 p.m. near Exit 20, at the merge with Interstate 195 East.

He has been identified as George West, 42, of Providence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, whose name is not being released, was not charged.

The crash is being investigated by the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks, the Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Forensic Services Unit.
