Providence Gas Leak Closes Off Dorrance, Westminster Streets
The area near Kennedy Plaza was closed off to pedestrian and vehicle traffic for several hours.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A gas leak in downtown Providence closed off several streets near Kennedy Plaza on Thursday morning. Westminster and Dorrance Streets were closed down a little before 10 a.m. and remained closed for several hours as crews worked to repair the gas line. Police said there was "no public safety concern."
Providence police told WPRI that the pipe has been secured and repairs are underway.
