Providence Man Caught With 500 Grams Of Cocaine Sentenced To 2 Years, 2 Months In Prison

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was sentenced Wednesday to two years and two months in federal prison after admitting he was caught with more than 500 grams of cocaine and 100 fentanyl pills.

Henry Arnaut, 27, pleaded guilty on Feb. 8, 2022, to possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and possession of ammunition by a person convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.

In November 2020, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the FBI began investigating the shipment of packages to Arnaut's home. Authorities got a warrant to search a package addressed to Arnaut and found a significant amount of cocaine, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said authorities then searched Arnaut's home and found more cocaine, the fentanyl pills, $1,180 in cash, several gun magazine and ammunition. Arnaut was previously convicted of a felony and was not legally allowed to own ammunition, prosecutors said.

Following Arnaut's prison sentence, he must serve three years of federal supervised release.
