Providence Man Pleads To Using Phony ID To Get Medicaid, SNAP Benefits: Feds
The Providence man's sentencing was scheduled for July.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man pleaded guilty to using someone else's identity to obtain Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
William Jose Alejandro Arias Amador, 45, pleaded guilty to false representation of a Social Security number, health care and wire fraud, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a media release.

Amador, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, applied for Medicaid and SNAP benefits "using a United States citizen’s identity and Social Security number," according to the release.
