Rhode Island State Police Arrest 2 Providence Men On Gun Charges
Rhode Island State Police said the driver, Kyrell Clark, 31, tried running away from a traffic stop before getting caught with guns.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Two Providence men were arrested Friday after Rhode Island State Police said the men were caught with two guns they weren't legally allowed to own.
Around 1:35 p.m., state troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations on Russo Street in Providence, state police said. During the traffic stop, the driver ran away and was taken into custody a short time later, according to state police.
During a search of the vehicle, state police said they found a loaded 9-mm Luger pistol in the driver's side door pocket and a loaded 9-mm Taurus pistol in the glove compartment.

The driver, Kyrell Clark, 31, and was charged with two counts of license or permit required for carrying a pistol, two counts of large capacity feeding device prohibited, possession of a weapon other than a firearm (knife over 3 inches), obstructing an officer in the execution of his/her duty and disorderly conduct.
Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, 3) Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Crime of Violence, 4) Possession of a Weapon other than a Firearm (Knife over 3"), 5) Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of his Duty, and 6) Disorderly Conduct.

The passenger, Rashaad Martin, 36, was charged with two counts of license or permit required for carrying a pistol, two counts of large capacity feeding devices prohibited and conspiracy.
Both Clark and Martin were placed into custody and taken to the Lincoln Woods Barracks.
Clark was arraigned and taken to the ACI and held as a bail violator. Martin was arraigned and transported to the ACI pending a bail hearing.
