Speaker Nancy Pelosi To Visit Rhode Island For Helena Foulkes Rally

The Democratic candidate for Governor will welcome Pelosi to Rhode Island, and will also be joined by Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A rally for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Helena Foulkes will feature a big name in Providence this weekend.

Both WPRI and NBC 10 confirmed that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will be in attendance at the rally in support of Foulkes. Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza will also join.

This news comes off the recent endorsement of Foulkes by the Boston Globe, and a strong debate performance.

The rally is scheduled for Sunday at the Farm Fresh Rhode Island building on Sims Avenue.

Five Democrats and three Republicans are vying for the role of governor, after current Gov. Daniel McKee took over for Gina Raimondo when she was appointed as US Commerce Secretary. The Democrats are: McKee, Helena Buonanno Foulkes, Matthew A. Brown, Nellie M. Gorbea and Luis Daniel Munoz. The Republicans are: David Darlington, Ashley Kalus and Jonathan Riccitelli.
