Wanted Providence Man Jailed: Cops

He was pulled over and arrested in Providence, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A wanted Providence man was arrested and jailed, police said.

Damien Smith, 33, was pulled over shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday on Douglas Avenue in Providence, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Smith was arrested on a charge of obstructing an officer in the execution of duty, the release said.

Smith was also arrested on a warrant charging him with failing to appear in court for a possession of a stolen motor vehicle case, according to the release.

Smith was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, "held as a probation violator, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution- Men's Intake Center," the release said.
