The Cultural Survival Bazaar Program has three basic objectives; to support the livelihoods of Indigenous artisans and performers living their culture through their art, to educate the public about Indigenous Peoples, and to support projects supporting Indigenous lands, rights, and cultures in their communities.

The Cultural Survival Bazaar is a free festival of Arts and Cultures from around the world supporting Indigenous artisans, performers, and a variety of projects in their communities.

Each Bazaar features Indigenous artisans and performers; handmade and fair trade products; educational presentations, and displays; as well as opportunities to get involved with Cultural Survival work partnering with Indigenous Peoples to defend their lands, languages, and cultures.

The Cultural Survival Bazaar began in 1982 at Harvard University’s Phillip Brooks House.  Since then the program has been to many regions throughout Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Jersey, and New York, creating new markets for fair trade goods, trainings for artisans, as well as educational information and advocacy opportunities for event attendees.  Every year the bazaars attract over 40,000 people to our events throughout New England and raise about $500,000 for Indigenous artisans, performers, and programs benefiting their communities.
