curl27 Fit Tip #41713

Can you stick to your fitness routine while traveling?

Going on a trip and wondering how you can stick to your fitness routine? Can you pack any equipment that will make it a breeze to work out while on the road?

I asked this on ask.com and also took an informal poll on the curl27 Fitness Facebook page.

The number one thing everyone said in my very informal research was remember to pack your sneakers. If you see those sneakers just laying there in the bottom of your suitcase begging to be taken out you might get the urge to workout just on pure guilt! All kidding aside having a set of workout clothes and shoes will remind you that you need to get moving.

Next on the list was resistance bands as they are super easy to pack and take up no room. You can even shove them in your sneakers for easy transport. The list went on to include a yoga mat, yoga ball, and small weights.

If you have the gumption to take all these things with you that is great. But if you just can’t be bothered or don’t have room in the suitcase just remember you ALWAYS have your own gym with you. Use your own body weight to work out. Planks, sit ups, push ups, jump jacks, leg lifts require no equipment other than you. Don’t forget to look around the room you are staying in for inspiration. A bench can be used for back lunges or tricep dips. It will be a different type of work out than what you may be used to but that is okay. Giving your body a break from its usual routine will prevent over training yet still keep you active.
