Class Description: Every summer it’s the same story - you think you've conquered your flower and vegetable beds - you removed all those unwanted weeds in the spring, but, come the beginning of summer, a whole slew of weeds have returned, ready for a second round of pulling. A majority of those weeds we pull can actually be utilized in the kitchen! Come to Sandywoods Farm and learn which weeds can be brought into the kitchen for a little pizzazz on the plate and palate.
We will be discussing weeds that are edible, those which benefit the garden and its "good bugs," and those which can be used as herbal medicine. We’ll start indoors and then head out to the Sandywoods Community Garden. No more tossing away all that free food and medicine growing between your rows!
