Carver Man Charged With Possessing Stolen Goods, Drugs

Tiverton Police arrested a Massachusetts man for possession of stolen goods and drugs after stopping him for not wearing a safety belt on Fish Road.

Tiverton Police said a routine traffic stop ended in the arrest of a 23-year-old Carver, MA man after a search of his vehicle turned up drugs and stolen goods.

According to Lt. Patrick Jones, police stopped Jared Sheldon, 23, of 21 Marks Way, Carver, MA, on Fish Road because he was not wearing a safety belt. A subsequent computer check showed that Sheldon's license was suspended and he was placed under arrest on July 14 at 7:14 p.m.

"Mr. Sheldon's passenger also had a suspended license, so police called in a tow and while preparing the vehicle to tow, between the passenger seat and center console police found six orange pills recognized by the officer as Suboxone," said Jones.
