Children Can Enjoy a Show, See Some Animals and Build a Pencil Box
Kids can see a play about a toad, learn about animals and nature and also do some building during these fun (and mostly free) activities.

Where/When: Brownell Library, 44 Commons, Little Compton, Aug. 2 at 11 a.m.
Why Go: Former Eagle Scout Wayne Christiansen will teach children how to make knots (also check out other activities for all ages coming up).

Why Go: Hampstead Stage Company’s production of The Adventures of Mr. Toad.

Why Go: Tiverton Summer reading program presents Dave Marchetti’s hands on animal experience with over 20 animals.
Price: Free - CITIZENS BANK FOUNDATION FREE FAMILY FUN DAY
Where/When: Audobon Society, 1401 Hope St, Bristol, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Thanks to the Citizens Bank Foundation, the Audubon Environmental Education Center is open free to the public the first Saturday of every month. Enjoy crafts, nature stories, animal discoveries, hikes and more.
Price: Free, No need to register - FREE HOME DEPOT PROJECT: BUILD A PENCIL BOX
Where/When: Home Depot Locations in Somerset, North Dartmouth, Middletown and Seekonk. Find a location near you. It's on Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go: The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.
Price: Free for ages 5-12. No pre-registration is required.
