Cow Pie Bingo and Cider Social Offers $500 Prize
The first person to receive a "cow pie" in his or her square wins.

Little Compton Historical Society is holding its annual Cow Pie Bingo and Cider Social on Monday.
Participants in Cow Pie Bingo have a chance to win $500.
Once participants buy a $10 ticket and select a square, a cow will enter a field gridded with about 500 spaces at 3 p.m. The first square to receive a “cow pie” wins.

“It doesn’t sound too good, but it’s really a lot of fun,” said Nancy Carignan, administrator of Little Compton Historical Society.
If the cow gets “performance anxiety,” the winner will be drawn from a raffle.

Cow Pie Bingo is typically seen at town and agricultural fairs, Carnigan said.
The game is raising money for the Peggotty Project, which supports the recent move of Little Compton artist Sydney Burleigh’s 100-year-old boat-bottomed, thatched-roofed artist studio.
The Cow Pie Bingo and Cider Social takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Wilbor House Museum, 548 West Main Road.
The Cider Social will also provide free cider and donuts, local vendors, an antiques sale, free tours of the historical Wilbor house and last-chance tours to see the 2014 exhibit “Learning in Little Compton.”
Carnigan expects the event to bring in 300 to 500 people.
There will be non-traditional games for kids including pogo sticks and stilts. “We try to keep everything historical as much as possible,” Carnigan said.
Children can also make scarecrows and corn husk dolls and play in a candy haystack.
The event is free and open to the public. There will be free off-street parking available.
