End of Summer Fun at the Libraries and Movies on the Rocks

Kids can catch some end of the summer reading program celebrations through Tiverton Libraries and Brownell Library. Families can also enjoy a free movie in Newport and head over to New Bedford for some fun on AHA night.

Here are five fun free events for kids and families.

  • FINAL KIDS SUMMER PROGRAM EVENT FOR ESSEX LIBRARY
    Where/When: Knights of Columbus Hall, 28 Fish Road, Tiverton, RI 8/10 10:30am
    Why Go: Come along as we travel to the country of Italy on a Magic Gondola of the Imagination with Storyteller and Musician , Christopher Kavi Carbone.  
    Price: Free
  • FINAL KIDS SUMMER PARTY FOR BROWNELL LIBRARY
    Where/When: Brownell Library 44 Commons, Little Compton, RI, Aug. 10 at 5 p.m.
    Why Go: End of summer party with certificate, prizes and refreshments. Also enjoy entertainer Michlle Back-Coulibaly

  • MOVIES ON THE ROCKS: WIZARD OF OZ
    Where/When: Quarry Meadow, Ballard State Park, 8/10 dusk
    Why Go: Movies will be shown in the Quarry Meadow. Seating is on the grass. films will begin at dusk. Picnic dinners welcome. Parking available in the Rogers High School parking lot.

  • ART, HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURE (AHA!)
    Where/When: New Bedford (varied locations and times for events, see website), 8/11
    Why Go: FREE arts & culture event which takes place the 2nd Thursday of every month in Downtown New Bedford
    Price: Free
  • FREE CRAFT AT LOWES
    Where/When: Lowes (various locations see website), 8/13 10am
    Why Go: Get ready for school and build a schoolhouse photo holder
    Price: Free, pre-registration is required
