Enjoy Art, Animals and Grandparents Day This Weekend

Bring your grandparents or grandchildren to Blithewold Mansion or the Children's Museum to celebrate Grandparents Day, among other regional activities.

THIRTEENTH ANNUAL PAWTUCKET ARTS FESTIVAL

Where/When: Most events happen around the Blackstone Valley Visitor's Center at 175 Roosevelt Ave. Pawtucket, which is also a major RIPTA hub. There are a variety of events from Sept. 7 to Sept. 25.
Why Go:
Enjoy the arts in Pawtucket with music, theater, dance, art events and more.

The cost varies depending on the event.

RAPTOR WEEKEND

Where/When: Audubon Environmental Education Center, 1401 Hope Street (Route 114), Bristol, on Sept. 10 and 11, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go:
Wildlife rehabilitators and experts from across the Northeast will be showcasing a wide variety of extraordinary birds of prey at the largest raptor celebration in New England. Eagles, falcons, owls and hawks will be featured in live flight demonstrations and educational programs for bird enthusiasts of all ages.
Price:
Audubon Members: $8/adult, $4/child (children under 4 free); Two-day Pass: $13/adult, $6/child; Non-Members: $10/adult, $5/child (children under 4 free); Two-day pass: $17/adult, $8/child;One day Family 4 pack: 2 adults and 2 children: Members: $18/members; $25/non-members - only available the day of the even.

MOUNT HOPE FARM FEST

Where/When: Mount Hope Farm 250 Metacom Ave., Bristol on Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go:
Enjoy a stroll on the grounds, witness some reenactments, listen to some music, eat some lunch and/or participate in a scavenger hunt while celebrating the 330-year heritage of Mount Hope Farm. Price: Free Admission

GRANDPARENTS DAY

Where/When: Providence Children's Museum, 100 South St., Providence on Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go:
Free admission for grandmothers and grandfathers all day. Children can craft cards and collages in Discovery Studio from 1 to 3 p.m.
Price:
Grandparents are free and regular admission is $8.50.

GRANDPARENT'S DAY TEA

Where/When: Mansion Dining Room, Blithewold Mansionand Gardens, 101 Ferry Road, Bristol on Sept. 11 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Why Go:
Grandparents and grandchildren enjoy treats on lovely china plates and drink tea or cocoa from our exquisite china tea cups
Price:
Adult $18; Members $15; Children $10, Members $8 (Advance registration is required.)
