Enjoy the Westport Fair or the Four Corners Artisans Festival

Here are five local picks for fun events for you and your family this weekend. A few are free, all are fun.

  • WESTPORT FAIR
    Where/When: 200 Pine Hill Road, Westport, MA, July 13-18. Times vary see website
    Why Go: Fun activities and entertainment. See website for schedule
    Price: Admission is $3 on July 15 & 16, $4 on July 17, $5 on July 18 and July 19. Children under 12 are free.
  • GREEN ANIMALS CHILDREN'S PARTY
    Where/When: 380 Corey’s Lane, Porstmouth, RI, July 14 from 4 to 8 p.m.
    Why Go: Children and adults of all ages are invited to enjoy the festivities at the annual Children's Party at Green Animals Topiary Garden. The party will feature circus acts, music, magic, clowns, puppets, pony rides, refreshments and much more on this historic 7-acre estate overlooking Narragansett Bay.
    Price: adult members $15, adults, $20; children members free,  children (6-12) $5, children 5 and under free
  • FAMILY FUN FRIDAY: KEITH MUNSLOW
    Where/When: Blithewold Mansion, 101 Ferry Road, July 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m
    Why Go: Keith presents a one-of-a-kind show that will delight everyone with its unique mix of funny and original songs and stories, tongue-twisting poems, oddball characters and on-the-spot cartoon drawing. Great for all ages. Activities will include a live performance from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a craft project, face painting, and games from noon to 1 p.m. Rain or Shine.
    Price: Family Fun Fridays are included with Mansion admission and FREE for members. Adults $10/Seniors $8/College students $8/Kids ages 6 to 17, $2. You can pre-register. Tiverton libraries also have a museum passes that admit up to 2 adults and 6 children under 18 for free.

  • Where/When: Dewey Field Naval Station, Newport, RI 7/16, 5 to 9 p.m.
    Why Go: Concession, Kids Activities and free concert; opening act Wayz N Means 5 to 7 p.m., featuring Navy Band Northeast 7 to 9 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m.
    Price: Free
  • TIVERON FOUR CORNERS ARTISANS FESTIVAL
    Where/When: 3948 Main Road, Tiverton, RI (Tiverton Four Corners), July 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Why Go: the best local, regional and national artists & artisans display and sell their works. Food, treats and entertainment also available
    Price: Free admission
