Fall River Serial Arsonist Skips Arraignment

A court warrant has been issued.

The suspect charged with second-degree arson in the at the Bourne Mill in Tiverton failed to appear in on Thursday for his arraignment.

According to the Superior Court clerk, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Donald Edward Combs, 35, of 94 Broad St., Fall River, was first arrested on April 26, 2010, in Fall River and charged with arson, relating to several mill fires in that city. He was charged by the Attorney General's office in June for the September 2009 five-alarm Bourne Mill fire, where fire departments from Tiverton and several surrounding cities and towns responded. They fought the fire at the four-story complex for several hours before finally extinguishing it.

According to , the man is considered a serial arsonist. The case was investigated by members of the , Tiverton Det. Dan Martin, Tiverton Det. Sgt. Mike Carr and David Scott of the State Fire Marshals Office.
