Tiverton Police Find Pot, Pills and Scale On Fall River Woman

charged a Fall River woman with drug distribution and possession after they discovered marijuana and pills during a motor vehicle stop.
Kristi Lynn Amaral, 27, of 20 Wilcox St., Apt. 1, Fall River, MA was arrested at 11:25 a.m., Tuesday, April 24. She was charged with felony distribution of mariijuana and possession of clonazepam and benzodiazepine without prescriptions.
Police pulled over Amaral at the intersection of Canonicus and Mill streets for speeding and having an invalid inspection sticker, according to Lt. Patrick Jones. The officer could detect the odor of marijuana approaching the vehicle and reportedly saw what he believed was marijuana in the cupholder of the vehicle.

Jones said a subsequent search revealed a plastic bag in the arm rest in the vehicle containing 25 pills, a cigarette box containing pills and three additional bags containing marijuana. He said two of the bags had half to a full ounce of marijuana between them and then eight smaller bags with one to two grams in each. A grinder, bags and digital scale were also recovered.
