Forgotten Wallet Leads to Cocaine Possession Charge in Tiverton

charged a Fall River man with cocaine possession last week after it was allegedly discovered in his car right before it was to be towed.

Jose M. Perez-Concepcion, 25, of 220 Johnson St., Apt. 28B, Fall River, MA, was arrested at 10:06 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2 on Route 24. He was charged with one felony count of possession of cocaine and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled substance.

Lt. Patrick Jones said an officer on radar post on Route 24 observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust and revoked registration. Once pulled over, the learned the driver, later identified as Perez-Concepcion, did not have registration or insurance after providing his license.

Jones noted that as police took an inventory of Perez-Concepcion's car before the tow truck arrived, they reportedly discovered his wallet. Police allegedly found a white powdery substance protruding from the wallet, Jones said, and it later tested positive for cocaine.
