1. Barnes & Noble Free Book
Barnes and Noble has a summer program encouraging your child to read by offering a free book. All you have to do is download their free journal, record eight books your child has read and bring the completed journal into a Barnes & Noble Store. Your child can choose from a list of selected free books. Also, you will be entered into a drawing for a free Nook Color.

2. TV show Facebook contest to swim with sharks
Have you seen the show "Shark Men" on National Geographic? Want to spend a day with them? Enter a contest to do just that, along with a friend too. Just go to their Facebook page “Shark Men” to enter. And if you win, I expect an invitation!

3. Writing opportunity
Know a talented teen looking to get published? Contact my friend, Hannah, who is launching an online magazine - suckerliterarymagazine. They are looking for fiction submissions for their first issue, scheduled to be released by the fall/winter of 2011-2012. They are also looking for volunteers to help with editing, layout, and design, and artistic talent in designing the cover. For more details please see their website.

4. Deals
CVS is now offering free gas! With the purchase of $30 in participating products, you will receive a coupon for a $10 gas card. Participating items will be marked with a special symbol. This week’s items include Planters Peanuts, which are also a "buy one, get one free" item. Doritos are two bags for $5. Also of note, Mars brand candy singles are free after extra buck. This is not good for my diet!

5. Deals
Renpure Organics Shampoo or Conditioner 8 to 13.5 oz. free after + up rewards. There is a maximum limit of two per purchase. If you can find an online coupon, it would make you money. Please share in the comments.
To contribute to my lack of diet, Pop Tarts are on sale for $1.88. This is, at least to my friend’s kids, official summer food.
