Frugal Family: Groupon For Newport Storm's Luau and Back to School Deals

1. Groupon has had some really interesting deals lately and this week is no different. Today I received one that sounds very fun, an event I didn’t even know existed and it’s in its thirteenth year! Newport Storm’s Luau at Fort Adams in Newport, to benefit Fort Adam’s Trust. The event is Saturday August 20, from 4:30 to 10 p.m. The Groupon is only offered until Friday or 50 are sold, which ever comes first. Admission to the Luau is $10 in advance or $15 at the door. The Groupon is $11 for two tickets it is 21-plus, of course. 

2. From Aug. 1 through Aug. 18 with in store purchases at Old Navy, you will earn $10 super cash for every $20 spent. This can be redeemed from Aug. 25 to Aug. 29. Sounds like the Kohl’s deal to me, but with a much better ratio!

3. Oliebollen.com is closing up shop so they are having a huge sale. Take note that all sales will be final. Toys are 25 to 60 percent off. What caught my attention were that the Melissa & Doug toys were 50 percent off. We loved those when the kids were younger. They are solid wooden toys and have a great product line. Clothes at Oliebollen.com are 30 to 80 percent off and everything else is 30 percent or more.

4. has some back to school items on sale. Playskool crayons, erasers, notebooks, pencils & glue are only $0.29.
OraMoist Dry Mouth Disk has a mail in rebate of $6, making the final price only $0.99.
$10 up+ rewards after spending $30 on P&G products, including things like Dawn dish detergent and Puffs tissues for only $0.97, and Pringles are 4 for $6.

5. I know we talked about Staples a couple weeks ago, but it is back to school time (already?, I know sad huh?) and they are having their weekly 10-cent extreme sales. This week note cards, 2-pack highlighters and an 8-pack of no. 2 pencils are each only 10 cents. Pentel RSVP black ball point pens are free!
