She's holding a studio warming party on June 2.
The Mill Pond Shops in Tiverton Four Corners have a new addition this year, Katherine Lovell Studio & Gallery, which opened on the second floor in January above . Lovell is getting the business ready for her warming party, coming up on Saturday, June 2 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Lovell, a New Jersey native and graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, said she decided to come to Tiverton from Barrington last year after she participated in the South Coast Artists Open Studio Tour.
"Tiverton's beautiful," she said in an interview Thursday. "There's such an artists community down here."

Searching for a space in 2011, Lovell said Jim Holland of helped her get the studio in Mill Pond Shops.
She specializes in acrylic and watercolar landscape paintings, and used to work with oils but now says she's "too fast" and hates waiting for it to dry. In her travels, Lovell said she often gets inspired for her next work.

"It's a mixture of things I've seen," she said, pointing to a painting of flowers from nearby Nonquit Pond, among many other beautiful scenic designs on her studio walls. "I love nature and being able to use patterns as the foil for natural objects."
Her work is on sale at first come, first serve, and Lovell said she has posters and prints that are reasonably priced.
The warming party is at the studio, and will feature food from Little Compton's Acacia Cafe Food Truck, live music by the Bay Spring Folk, art and other surprises. Lovell said she's invited a lot of friends, old clients and neighbors to the event. In September, she said she plans to hold her annual "Birds of a Feather" show, which will be open to anyone who loves birds and wants to display any medium of work featuring birds.
Lovell said she's working on getting her website www.klovell.com fully up and running. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m., or by appointment. For more information, call Lovell at 401-743-6077 or email at kittythepainter@yahoo.com.
