Little Compton Police Arrest Brother In Alleged Copper Pipe Theft

Shawn Sherman, 30, of New Bedford, MA, was arrested at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, April 3. He's charged with breaking an entering (a felony), conspiracy to commit a felony and larceny under $500.

Police said Sherman was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Little Compton and turned himself in last week after being incarcerated in Massachusetts on an unrelated matter.

The incident stems back to last August, when copper piping was reported stolen out of the basement of a local home. Police received information in the days following and put a case together, and sought warrants for Shawn Sherman and his older brother, Michael.

The woman, who police said was cooperative, is the alleged driver of the vehicle involved.
