Little Compton Police: Driver Strikes Telephone Pole, Snaps It in Half

The following accidents and incidents were reported by the on Monday, Feb. 7:
Accidents:
- Little Compton Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Long Highway on Feb. 1 at 3:54 p.m. According to the report, a truck struck a telephone pole, snapping it in half. The operator of the truck was uninjured, and reported that his vehicle slid off the roadway due to icy conditions. His vehicle, which sustained heavy damage, was towed from the scene. National Grid responded to replace the pole.
- A juvenile operating his car at the south of end of Long Highway on Feb. 3 at 7:01 a.m. reportedly struck a deer, according to Little Compton Police. The driver was uninjured and the deer succumbed to its injuries. The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage.

- A Colebrook Road resident reported to Little Compton Police on Jan. 31 at 8:37 a.m. that both of his vehicle’s license plates were missing. Police took the report.
- A Wild Cherry Drive resident went to Little Compton Police headquarters on Jan. 31 at 2:08 p.m. to report one of her license plates were missing from her vehicle. A report was taken.
- A Steeple View Drive resident called Little Compton Police on Feb. 3 at 3:14 p.m. to report that her handicapped placard had been misplaced and needed a new one through the registry. A report was taken.
- A Francis Lane resident reported on Feb. 6 at 1:18 p.m. that she was receiving strange letters from her neighbor. She asked police to contact the suspect and tell him to stop bothering her.
