Little Compton Police: Knives, Pot and Mustard Pranking

A local man faces weapons and obstruction charges by after a report of a hit-and-run accident in nearby Westport, MA, last week.

Russell Thibault, 23, of 476 Main Road, Westport, MA, was arrested at 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29. He was charged with possessing a weapon other than a firearm (two knives more than three inches long) and obstructing a police officer.

Thibault was reportedly stopped in Little Compton for speeding. While at the stop, the responding officer heard a "be on the lookout" report, or BOLO, from Westport Police for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident in their town. Thibault was arrested after a brief investigation.

Pot possession

Thomas Biszko, 27, of 17 Sandpiper Drive, Westport, MA, was arrested at 9:33 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29. He was charged with possession of marijuana.

Police reportedly stopped the vehicle driven by Biszko for speeding. When speaking to Biszko, police smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the car. Bizsko allegedly handed marijuana to the officer and was arrested.

Mustard thrown on vehicle

A John Sisson Road resident reported at 1:57 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, that someone had put mustard on his vehicle overnight.

Alleged damage to gas line

A Simmons Road resident reported at 11:28 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, that he saw damage to a rubber hose that connected his propane tank to his trailer. He told police he smelled gas, and did not see any damage when he inspected it last week.

Alleged tampering with lug nuts

A Somerset, MA, man reported to police at 12:36 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, that someone may have tampered with the lug nuts on boat trailer while parked at Sakonnet Harbor.

Identity theft

A Steeple View Drive resident reported to police at 12:36 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, that fraudulent charges were made to his credit cards.
