Little Compton Police Log: Pot, Stolen Jewelry, Vandalism

A Fall River man was arrested by for allegedly smoking marijuana at the bottom of Town Way over the weekend

Kyle A. Correia, 19, of 174 Mount Hope Ave., Fall River, MA, was arrested at 2:03 am on Sunday, Oct. 2, at Town Way next to the beach. Correia was charged with possession of marijuana.

Police were investigating suspicious activity of car parked at the bottom of Town Way. The responding officer smelled the "strong odor" of burnt marijuana coming from inside the car as he spoke to the operator.

Court warrant

Paul Souza, 57, of 3626 Main Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 9:55 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. The vehicle Souza was riding in was pulled over for a broken brake light. After a check on Souza, he was arrested for an outstanding warrant in Second District Court.

Stolen jewelry

A Taylor's Lane woman called police at 9:44 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, to report several pieces of jewelry were stolen from inside her house. The matter remains under investigation.

Trashed picnic table

Police received a call at 10:17 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, to report a picnic table being vandalized at the former site of the Visiting Nurses Association.

Stolen package

Police received a call from an Old Stone Church Road resident at 10:07 a.m. on Friday, Sept 30, that someone stole a package left in her mailbox.

Stone wall antics

Police received a call at 2:47 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, of a vandalized stone wall located at the entrance of a residence on Taylor Lane.
