The competition began on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and will end Friday, Oct. 24.
Each box top collected by a student will earn the school 10 cents. The competition goal based on previous years is $1,000, said Ruth Maiato, co-coordinator of the Parent Student Teacher organization.

Prizes are awarded to the class that collects the greatest amount of box tops. The prize is typically a party such as a movie and popcorn party, or a pizza party, Maiato said.
The school has been holding the competition for many years. The funds have helped the school buy basketball and soccer uniforms in previous years.
The competition is organized by the Parent Student Teacher Organization.
