Town Clerk Carol Wordell said confusion arose when summer residents living in the Round Meadows summer cottages near South Shore Beach, some who live in recreation vehicles, wanted a year-round sticker because they lived in town longer than three months. Wordell said the way the ordinance was written, people were able to share year-round stickers when going to use the transfer station.

She added that coupons can be bought in bulk and some real estate agents already buy "quite a few" to leave with summer residents upon their return.
