Police Arrest Man Tied to 2011 Home Break-in Investigation

The following arrests were supplied by the Little Compton Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

arrested a man and woman last week in connection to an alleged home break-in last August.

Michael Sherman, 33, of New Bedford, was arrested at 11:15 a.m., Monday, March 5. He was charged with breaking and entering (a felony), larceny under $500 and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.

Erin Heath, 26, of Taunton, MA, was arrested at 9:45 a.m., Monday, March 5. Heath was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny.

Patrolman Patrick Martin said the incident stems back to last August, when copper piping was reported stolen out of the basement of a local home. Martin said he received information in the days following and put a case together. He soon sought warrants for Sherman and his brother. Martin said Sherman was turned over to Little Compton last week after being jailed in Massachusetts on an unrelated crime. No other information is available on Sherman's brother.

Heath, who Martin said was cooperative with police, is the alleged driver of the vehicle involved.

Pot possession

Katelyn Cook, 21, of Fall River, was arrested at 4:23 p.m., Thursday, March 8. Cook was charged with possession of marijuana (first offense). According to police, Cook was stopped for speeding on Crandall Road, and after speaking with Cook, police allegedly smelled burning marijuana coming from her vehicle.

Warrant arrest

Antonio Carreiro, 28, of Fall River, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 22. He was stopped for speeding on West Main Road and taken into custody based on an outstanding bench warrant in for failure to appear.
