Offering Irish Dishes Today, Little Compton Seafood Staple Crowther's Thrives On Local Business
Crowther's Food and Drink is Little Compton's best-kept secret.
Little Compton’s best kept secret is . The restaurant is located at 90 Pottersville Road in Little Compton.
“We have upscale food at affordable prices," said Owner Ken Lewis. "Every weekend, that’s 52 weekends a year, we have prime rib. We also serve baked, stuffed or boiled lobster. We have 12 beers on tap."
Today, St. Patrick's Day, Crowther's is feeling a little Irish.

"We will have Irish beef stew, cornbeef and cabbage and plenty of Guinness," said Lewis.
A life-long resident of Little Compton, Lewis tended bar at Sneakers and Crowther’s before buying the restaurant three years ago.

“Chef Dave LeFrance's favorites are shrimp Dianne made with real claim juice," he said. "It has a good bite to it. For our vegan customers he loves making a vegetarian portabella stack and a vegetarian stir fry."
During the long winters in town, Lewis credits the locals for his business success.
“They keep us going all winter,” he said. "We couldn’t do it with out them. We have loyal customers who come here everyday for lunch. Granted we have to scale down a little bit but we are always opened."
Jim Brady of Little Compton is a Vietnam veteran who simply loves the place.
“They always have themed nights, like on Halloween the waitresses got all dressed up," he said. "They served special dry iced drinks that looked like fog coming off of them. It’s a family-run place where no one is ever disappointed. You can bring a date, show up in work clothes or a three piece suit. Everyone feels comfortable here."
Brady also loves the karaoke nights at Crowther's.
“I love watching the people sing, or try to," he dded. "It’s so much fun."
For entertainment, there are four televisions for sports and a dart board that often gets used as the patrons settle in with friends.
Starting at 11:30 a.m., Crowther’s is open for lunch Wednesday through Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday, they open at 4 p.m. Every night of the week the bar is opened until 1 a.m.
