Rondeau’s Kickboxing recently opened its fifth Rhode Island location at 315 Main Road in Tiverton. For East Bay locals who worry you have to be a martial arts guru or an ultimate fighter to get fit and learn a little self defense, the owners of Rondeau's say think again.

Based on the classes and services they offer, the D’Abroscas said “what you put in is what you get out of it.”
“Everyone goes at their own pace,” Wendy D'Abrosca said.
There are various schedules to help hone in on nutrition, weight training, meal plans and, of course, fitness kickboxing.
“People get addicted to it,” added Nicky. “They take out frustration.”
Rondeau's offers three classes: family kickboxing, fitness kickboxing and “Push It” cardio and endurance training. The family class is open to all ages, and the regular fitness kickboxing class is where attendees begin learning combinations of punches and kicks. Nicky said the “Push It” class is less about technique and more about sweating and building strength.
Nicky began teaching at Rondeau’s Johnston location and also taught at the West Warwick one before coming to Tiverton. However, she’s been a personal trainer since 2004 at various gyms.
Wendy, who has a background in business, said she lost 75 pounds in the past year training and learning kickboxing.
Tiverton resident Tracy Potvin has been coming to Rondeau's for two weeks now.
"I did step aerobics before this. This is different," she said. "You have to try it. I feel excellent.”
On Saturday, the ribbon-cutting is slated for 11 a.m., with a demonstration at noon and a raffle drawing at 1 p.m. Wendy said they are giving away five sessions of personal training.
Rondeau’s Kickboxing is also offering a Biggest Loser Challenge that starts on April 12. For $250, they are offering a 12-week gauntlet fitness and nutrition regimen to help trim the body for the summertime.
