Sen. DiPalma Recognized by RI Parent Network

The award is given to a legislator who has shown leadership on issues relating to children, families and people with disabilities.

A Rhode Island state senator who has been a powerful advocate for children, families and people with disabilities has been recognized by a prominent state nonprofit.

Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Newport, Little Compton, Tiverton) was honored this morning with the ‘Legislative Leader Award’ by the Rhode Island Parent Information Network (RIPIN) at their annual breakfast at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Warwick.

The award is given to a legislator who has shown leadership and commitment to legislative activities that further policies for children, families and individuals with disabilities in Rhode Island.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from RIPIN. They are an outstanding organization that truly does amazing and vital work for the children, families and disabled of the state,” DiPalma said in a statement. “And I can promise them and all those they serve that I will continue to walk into the State House every single day and advocate for those that deserve a voice at the State House. I ran for elected office to help those that are most in need and I will continue to do so even after I leave the legislature. I want to thank the RIPIN again for this tremendous honor and I know they will continue with the critical work they do for Rhode Island’s families.”

“Senator DiPalma not only has an outstanding history of supporting policies for children, he continually sponsors and supports bills that promote programs and policies for individuals with disabilities. He is tireless in his efforts to improve RI’s infrastructure, economy and care for vulnerable populations. Senator DiPalma is beyond deserving of our Legislative Leadership Award and exemplifies a champion for children and families in Rhode Island,” said Tina Spears, RIPIN’s Government Relations Director, when introducing Senator DiPalma.
