St Patrick's Day, Princess and Nautical Fun
Here are some St Patty's day kid-friendly celebrations as well as some nautical and princess fun.
For this week's Grab & Go Kids Planner, there are family-friendly activities for St. Patrick's Day in Newport, Battleship Cove in Fall River and a dinner and conversation hosted by the Tiverton Prevention Coalition.
- BULLYING: LET’S TALK, A DINNER AND CONVERSATION HOSTED BY TIVERTON PREVENTION COALITION
Where/When: Cafeteria, 10 Quintal Drive, Tiverton, RI 02878/ March 10 @ 6 p.m.
Why Go: Family-Style, Pasta dinner includes game of Bullying Bingo and lively dinner discussion about how to create an environment where bullying is not tolerated. Open to parents and their middle school aged children. Younger children are welcome to eat with their families and participate in supervised age appropriate activities.

Where/When: Battleship Cove 5 Water St., Fall River, MA on March 11
Why Go: Spend the night on a WWII battleship! Sleep in restored Navy bunks, eat meals “chow-line style” in the Officer’s Wardroom, and rise and shine to the sound of reveille. Guests will enjoy all-day admission, three delicious meals, and will have the opportunity to participate in shipboard activities. They will also receive a free Overnight Survival Guide filled with fun facts and activities.

Where/When: Begins at 11:00am March 12. Parade begins at , 43 Broadway, and will proceed to Carroll Avenue at Saint Augustin’s Church in the heart of the Fifth Ward.
Why Go: The parade this year is estimated to last two hours and will include eight Pipe Bands, nine Marching Bands, three Fife & Drum Corps, three Clown Units, eight reenactment units and a host of local, state, and regional organizations, including police and fire units, social/fraternal organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Schools and non-profits.
Price: Free to watch parade - 6th ANNUAL NEWPORT SAINT PATRICK’S DAY FAMILY CELEBRATION
Where/When: the "Hut", on Golden Hill Street, Newport, RI 02840 (Behind the Newport Public Library) on March 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: This event is a non- alcohol event. There will be entertainment with Bag Pipers, Irish step dancers, pirates, live Irish music, face painting, and more. There will also be a “How Green AM I” contest (with cash prize and a $100 cash door prize) and other giveaways.
Price: Free - PRINCESS PARTIES AT THE FALL RIVER CAROUSEL
Where/When: Fall River Carousel, 5 Water St, Fall River, MA on March 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
Why Go: Calling all princesses to the royal court for unlimited rides on the Carousel. Make your own princess jewelry. Enjoy a royal make-over. Dine on delicious snacks and princess punch.
