Tiverton Fire Crews Battle Crest Road Home Fire
Multiple neighboring fire departments are also on the scene.
Tiverton firefighters battled a fire this morning at a home at 58 Crest Road. Portsmouth, Westport, Swansea, Middletown, Little Compton, Bristol and Warren fire departments were also on the scene.
The fire reportedly started around 11 a.m. Tiverton Emergency Management Deputy Director Fred Almeida said the fire started outside the home then "went up the wall to the attic pretty fast."
Dark gray smoke was billowing from the roof, but no flames were visible from the street.

Laurie Haywood, who lives in the house, was home at the time, but was uninjured.
"I think it was the boiler," she said. "I heard a noise and just saw flames on the side. Everyone got out and is safe."

A Tiverton firefighter was reportedly taken to the hospital by a Swansea ambulance after his heart rate rose.
Providence Canteen was on the scene providing water and other relief to firefighters battling the heat.
