Tiverton Man Allegedly Threatens, Charges at Mother With Knife

charged a local man with felony assault and vandalism after he allegedly threatened his mother with a knife last week.

Todd A. Davis, 21, of 27 Durfee Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 11:21 a.m., Thursday, March 22. He was charged with domestic felony assault and domestic vandalism.

Police received a call from a 54-year-old woman that morning stating she is the mother of Davis, according to Lt. Patrick Jones. She alleged her son threatened her with a knife.

The mother claimed that during an argument with Davis, she was standing at her bedroom door when her son picked up a knife, held it over his head and charged at her, Jones said.

"She slammed the door shut," Jones said. "Her son tried to force it open."

At that point police arrived and apprehended Davis.
