Tiverton Man Brought To Hospital After Flipping Motorcycle on Route 24

The following report was supplied by the Tiverton Police Department.

Rescue personnel brought a 54-year-old Tiverton man to the hospital Monday afternoon after reportedly flipping his motorcycle on Route 24.

According Cpl. Daniel Raymond, emergency crews responded to Route 24 at approximately 2:02 p.m. Monday for a report of a man who flipped his motorcycle on Route 24 southbound near the curve before the Fish Road exit.

Raymond said the driver lost control of his 1999 Harley Davidson, left the road and went into the center median.

"It flipped at least twice," Raymond said.

When it came to a rest, the Tiverton man was found near his bike conscious and alert, Raymond said, noting he complained of shoulder and back pain. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Raymond said he was unsure if the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and it remains under investigation.
