Tiverton Police: Domestic Vandalism, DUI, and Assault

Dartmouth Man Arrested For Domestic Vandalism
Nicholas Lewis, 22, of 679 Fisher Road Apt. 3, Dartmouth, was arrested Sunday, June 24 at 4:30 p.m. and charged with domestic vandalism after he allegedly broke his girlfriend’s phone.
According to reports, Tiverton Police received a call from a manager of Dania Food Mart who allegedly overheard a man, later identified as Lewis, making verbal threats against his girlfriend. Police were able to identify the man as Lewis from evidence at the scene, but according to Lt. Patrick Jones, the victim refused to cooperate with police and denied that Lewis had made threats against her. According to reports, Lewis’ girlfriend allegedly told police that Lewis damaged her cell phone during an argument and Lewis was charged for the vandalism. He was arraigned in Second Division District Court on June 25 and released on $1,000 bail with surety.

Tiverton Man Arrested For DUI
John S. Pavao, 66, of 19 Fern Way, Tiverton, was arrested on Monday, June 25 at 11:56 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence, first offense. According to police records, an officer saw Pavao driving on Bulgarmarsh Road and observed his car cross the fog line, double yellow line and swerve into the breakdown lane. According to Jones, the officer could smell alcohol on Pavao’s breath after he stopped the car. Pavao failed a field sobriety test and after he was transport back to Police headquarters, he blew a .111 and a .106 on the chemical test breathalyzer.

Somerset Woman Arrested On Domestic Assault Charges
Sabra Lynn Derosiers, 22, of 385 Main St., Somerset, MA, was arrested on Sunday, July 1 at 1:21 a.m. and charged with domestic simple assault. Police were dispatched to Fish Road for a report of an assault. Officers found a vehicle with Derosiers and her girlfriend inside. Derosiers’ girlfriend alleged that the pair had been driving back from Bristol when Derosiers, who was a passenger in the car allegedly “flipped out” and struck her girlfriend in the face and pulled her hair. During a subsequent computer check, police determined that Derosiers was wanted on a bench warrant out of Sixth Division District Court.
Derosiers was arraigned in Second Division District Court on assault charges on July 1 and released on $1,000 surety. She was, however, held without bail based on the Sixth District warrant and transferred to the court house in Providence.
Locan Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
Daniel L. Bernier, 31, of 217 Stafford Road Apt. Barn, Tiverton, was arrested on Monday, July 2 at 6:26 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license and three traffic violations after he was picked up on a bench warrant.
Police stopped Bernier’s car on Stafford Road after seeing the vehicle straddling the center yellow line. Both the driver and car were known to the arresting officer and after confirming that Bernier’s license was suspended, he was stopped. A subsequent computer check showed Bernier also had an active warrant for his arrest. He was held overnight at police headquarters until he was arraigned in Second Division District Court on Tuesday.
