Tiverton Police: Alleged Assault on Girlfriend, Sister Steals Popular Xbox Game From Brother

The following arrests were supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

charged a man with assault and drug possession after he allegedly lunged at his girlfriend one Saturday night.

Kris Vieira, 41, of 245 Chace Ave., Tiverton, was arrested at 9:33 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21. He was charged with domestic simple assault and possession of prescription drugs.

Lt. Patrick Jones said officers responded to the Chace Avenue residence for a report of a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, police spoke with a female victim, who said she had an argument with her boyfriend, later identified as Vieira. She alleged that during the argument, Viera jumped out of his seat and made a lunging move toward her.

"She was fearful and he was yelling and threatening her," Jones said.

Jones said Vieira allegedly left the house before police arrived. Officers checking the area found him on Main Road. Vieira was taken into custody and during an inventory search, police found two Alprazolam pills in his possession without a prescription.

Sister allegedly steals brother's Xbox game, sells it

Amanda Roias, 22, of 44 Restful Valley Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 7:36 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24. She was charged with domestic larceny under $500.

Jones said police received a report on Jan. 18 from a mother stating that her daughter, Amanda, stole an Xbox game called Skyrim from her son. Police advised the mother they wanted to speak to the son, and he came in later that day to give a statement. Jones said the son alleged that earlier that day he got into a fight with his sister when he noticed his Skyrim game missing.

"He alleges that she took the game, admitted to him that she took the game and sold it at a GameStop in Fall River," Jones said.

Officers followed up with GameStop and confirmed the transaction, which was made in the name of Amanda Roias. Jones said warrant for her arrest was drafted, and she turned herself in on Jan. 24.

Violation of no contact order

Brian McCollum, 33, of 36 Narragansett Boulevard, Portsmouth, was arrested at 12:54 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 21. He was charged with violation of a no contact order.

Jones said police took a walk-in complaint from a man who claimed the boyfriend of his ex-wife, later identified as McCollum, was present at the ex-wife's house when he went to pick up the children on Dec. 11. Jones said the former husband was aware a no contact order was in affect against the boyfriend. He said police conducted an investigation and interviewed witnesses who confirmed McCollum was present at the house and in violation of the no contact order. Based on those states, a warrant was issued. Jones said called Tiverton on Jan. 21 to report they had McCollum in custody.

He was brought to Tiverton to answer to the violation charges.

Fight at high school

Police charged a 17-year-old Tiverton teen with disorderly conduct at 5:08 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23. Jones said police responded to a report of an altercation in the parking lot of at 2:09 p.m. that day. Police spoke with the vice principal, who said one boy struck another student in the face with a closed fist. Jones said the male victim did not want to press charges, but police charged the boy with disorderly conduct on school grounds. He was turned over to his parents and referred to the juvenile hearing officer.
