Tiverton Police: Alleged Assault and Stolen Car, DUIs and Disorderly Conduct
The following arrests were supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

Man allegedly assaults girlfriend, takes vehicle
Jason Jones, 18, of Tiverton, was arrested at 1:07 p.m., Saturday, May 12. He was charged with domestic simple assault and battery, domestic driving a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Lt. Patrick Jones said officers were dispatched to Shove Street for a report of a man who took a motor vehicle without consent. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a woman who said her boyfriend, Jason Jones, pulled her out a vehicle and threw her to the ground after she declined to let him borrow it. Lt. Jones said the woman pointed to a black pick-up truck across the street and alleged her boyfriend struck it before driving away. She had no visible injuries.
Prior to officers leaving, the woman reportedly received a phone call from Jones, saying the vehicle was parked on Hooper Street. Lt. Jones said police then located Jones and the vehicle on Hooper Street and arrested him.

DUI
- Jill H. Drape, 34, 93 Dyer St., Fall River, MA, was arrested at 6:38 p.m., Wednesday, May 9. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol (first offense), refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test and refusal to submit a chemical test. Tiverton Police Lt. Patrick Jones said officers responded to the area of State Avenue for a report of a woman passed out behind the wheel. Jones said officers made contact with the driver, Drape, who was reportedly behind the wheel, and the car was running with the headlamps on. Jones said officers checked Ms. Drape, were able to get a response and made observations she was under the influence. Officers conducted a field sobriety test, which she reportedly failed. Back at the station, Jones said Drape refused a breathalyzer test.
- Bernard T. Sharkey III, 51, of 44 Restful Valley Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 10:25 p.m., Thursday, May 10. Sharkey was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol (first offense - BAC between .10 and .15). Jones said there was a motor vehicle stop on Stafford Road for speeding. An officer approached the driver, Sharkey, and made observations he was under the influence. He submitted to a field sobriety test, which he reportedly failed. Back at the station, Sharkey reportedly submitted to a chemical test, where readings of .112 and .106 were recorded.
Disorderly conduct charge after man found naked on Stafford Road

Mark A. DeMello, 24, of 1289 Stafford Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 11:54 p.m., Friday, May 11. He was charged with disorderly conduct. Jones said police received multiple calls of a naked man walking down Stafford Road in the area of 1107 Stafford Road and Old Stafford Road. He said police were there within three minutes, and found DeMello, unclothed, who identified himself. He was taken into custody.
Disorderly conduct charge after allegedly throwing lawn chairs
Joseph H. Fitzgerald, 41, of 33 Bluff Ave., Tiverton, was arrested at 4:55 p.m., Wednesday, May 9. He was charged with domestic disorderly conduct. Jones said officers responded to a Bluff Avenue residence. Upon arrival, police spoke with Fitzgerald's mother and another witness, who alleged that he was yelling and during an argument, threw two lawn chairs in the yard. Jones said witnesses also alleged that it was necessary for them to step in between Fitzgerald after he threw the lawn chairs and allegedly approached her aggressively. Based on that, Fitzgerald was arrested.
Disorderly conduct charge at the high school
Cody Fraser, 18, of 1182 Stafford Road, was arrested at 8:44 a.m., Thursday, May 10. He was charged with disorderly conduct. Police were called to at the request of the vice principal for a report of a disorderly student, said Jones. It's alleged that the student, Fraser, went to the office to speak with the vice principal, at which time he "created a scene" by yelling and swearing. Jones said the student reportedly yelled at people walking into the main office, and at that point, the vice principal told Fraser he was suspended, and left the school grounds. Jones said Fraser was taken into custody when found walking on Bulgarmarsh Road.
Bench warrant
Lisa Silvia, 56, of 82 Colebrook Road, Little Compton, was arrested at 10:15 p.m., Sunday, May 13. She was taken into custody on an oustanding bench warrant issued in Second District Court for failure to pay fines. Jones said Silvia was pulled over after a radar post at the Hess Station on Stafford Road with reportedly no front or rear passenger headlights working.
