Tiverton Police Logs: Four Arrests In Past Week

The following arrest information was supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

arrested a 21-year-old man this past weekend who was wanted on warrents for allegedly making crank phone calls to his girlfriend and driving recklessly.

Stephen Andrew Sousa, 21, of 644 Brayton Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 5:32 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, by Rhode Island State Police of the Lincoln Barracks. Sousa is facing charges of domestic disorderly conduct, making crank or obscene phone calls and reckless driving.

According to Tiverton Sgt. James Costa, Sousa's warrant dates back to Friday, May 27, at a time where was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with his 18-year-old girlfriend. On that day, Costa said the girlfriend was leaving on East Road and Sousa was allegedly speaking with her. When she drove off, he drove off in another direction, police said.

Costa said Sousa caught up with the girlfriend on Brayton Road and then passed her vehicle in a No Passing zone. Costa said Sousa allegedly blocked her vehicle from moving forward, and when she tried to go in reverse, he blocked her in. Costa said the girlfriend went to the police station and while in there being questioned by officers, Sousa allegedly made multiple phone calls harassing her.

Deborah L. Melusky, 55, and Robin LaPlante, 49, both of 1032R Stafford Road, Tiverton were arrested at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at their residence. Both women were charged with domestic vandalism.

According to Costa, when officers responded to the residence for a report of a domestic dispute in progress, they found Melusky on the front steps, allegedly stating that LaPlante had been drinking and destroyed her planters in the front yard.

When officers spoke with LaPlante, Costa said LaPlante claimed Melusky allegedly destroyed her bug light.

Driving on a suspended license

Mika Pierre, 26, of 19 Kingston St., Brockton, MA, was arrested at 7:36 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, on Route 24. Pierre was charged with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.
