Tiverton Police: Elderly Charged with Assault, Teen Charged For Driving 112 Miles Per Hour

The following arrest information was supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

81-year-old allegedly breaks plates, strikes husband

Albertina Pacheco, 81, of 326 Riverside Drive, Tiverton, was arrested at 6:37 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at her residence. She was charged with domestic simple assault and battery and domestic vandalism. Lt. Patrick Jones said officers responded to the home for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they met with Pacheco and her husband, who alleged that during an argument, his wife broke several dishes and struck him in the face, causing a small cut on the bridge of his nose.

Kyong C. Johnson, 62, of 143 Main Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 8:40 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16., and charged with domestic simple assault and battery and domestic vandalism. Jones said officers went to the home for a report for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they met with the grandmother, Johnson, and her granddaughter, and learned that the two were in an argument. It was alleged that Johnson grabbed her granddaughter's laptop and smashed it on the floor, breaking it into pieces, and also ripped her granddaughter's tank top off.

Joseph Morris, 37, of 35 Jenks St., East Providence, was arrested by Tiverton police at 5:59 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14, and charged with receiving stolen goods. Lt. Jones said the case is a investigation. It began in September with the theft of a snow plow that was alleged to be sold at South Shore Scrap at 413 Bulgarmarsh Road.

Jones said the victim, from Warren, contacted Tiverton Det. Daniel Martin and told him his stolen snow plow might be at the Tiverton scrap yard. Det. Martin was able to recover the snow plow. Working with Warren police, they were able to identify the person who brought the snow plow to Tiverton, Morris.

Based on that, Jones said a warrant was issued for Morris and he was picked up by on Dec. 14.

Teen clocked at 112 mph near Four Corners

Justin LaFleur, 18, of 24 Cedar Ave., Portsmouth, was arrested in Tiverton at 2:48 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, at 3465 Main Road. LaFleur was charged with reckless driving. Jones said an officer on patrol saw a vehicle go by at a high rate of speed on Main Road heading north from Tiverton Four Corners. The officer obtained a radar speed of 112 miles per hour. After taking pursuit and pulling over the vehicle, police cited the driver, LaFleur. Jones said LaFleur claimed he was in a fight with a friend that night. 

Pot possession

  • Raymond Missildine, 22, of 1849 North Main St., Apt. 3, Fall River, was arrested at 8:19 pm. Sunday, Dec. 18, at 323 Main Road and charged with possession of marijuana (first offense) and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of controlled substances. Jones said Missildine was stopped for not having a functioning rear tail light, and the officer could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment. A subsequent search revealed a quantity of marijuana.
  • Jeremy Holmes, 22, of 78 Amory Petty Way, Westport, MA, was arrested at 10:12 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 535 Crandall Road. Holmes was charged with possession of marijuana (first offense), operating a motor vehicle while in possession operating a motor vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. Jones said police stopped Holmes for speeding on Crandall Road, and the officer noted the odor of marijuana eminating from the vehicle. A subsequent search located a small black case behind the driver's seat containing suspected mairjuana.

Man allegedly damages wife's car trunk

Robert J. Guinen, 62, of 117 Richard Drive, Tiverton, was arrested at 6:20 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at his residence and charged with domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct. Jones said the wife came into the police station asking for an escort to her husband's home on Richard Drive to get some belongings, alleging she had an argument with Guinen. After conducting an investigation, police spoke with Guinen, who reportedly admitted he slammed the truck of his wife's vehicle and caused damaged in the rear trunk portion.  

Man allegedly tries to punch out car window

  arrested a local man on assault and vandalism charges last weekend after his girlfriend complained that he tried to punching a window out of her vehicle during a fight.

Anthony DeMello, 45, of 296 Hooper St., Tiverton, was arrested at 5:26 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, and charged with domestic simple assault and battery, domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct.

The victim, DeMello's girlfriend, reportedly walked into the police station and told officers that the two had gotten into an argument that started in their apartment. The woman said she left the apartment for her car, but that DeMello followed and allegedly punched the driver's side window twice. His attempt to break it was unsuccessful. The girlfriend then drove off to the police station.

Jones said a warrant was issued, the DeMello was later picked up and charged.

Violation of no contact order

John O'Brien, Jr., 59, of 22 O Dr., Westport, MA, was arrested at 1:13 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. He was charged with a violation of a no contact order. Jones said police received a report from a Tiverton resident claiming to have a no contact order against O'Brien. The woman reportedly had been contacted by mail by O'Brien. Jones said a statement was taken from the victim and a warrant was issued on Dec. 1. O'Brien reportedly turned himself into the police station on Thursday.

Bench warrant

Sandra Terceiro, 37, of 528 Osborn St., Fall River, was arrested at 11:28 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, on Route 24. She was taken into custody on an outstanding bench warrant issued from Sixth District Court in Providence and was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.  

High school fight

A 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Tiverton, were arrested at 7:49 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at . Jones said police responded for a report of a fight. Teachers reportedly broke up the fight and police took to the two boys into custody. They were later released to their parents and the matter was referred to the juvenile officer.
