Tiverton Police Logs: Son Allegedly Hits Mother, Two Motorists Give Fake Names
The following arrests were supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

arrested a local man last Tuesday on allegations that he punched his mother in the face and prevented her from calling 911.
Roger F. Gaudreau, 36, of 39 Cross Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 6:08 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at his residence. Gaudreau was charged with domestic simple assault and battery, domestic vandalism and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone.
Police received a call from the suspect's 56-year-old mother earlier that afternoon, saying she locked herself in an upstairs bathroom after having an altercation with her son, according to Lt. Patrick Jones. The mother alleged her son, later identified as Gaudreau, punched a door and punched her in the face.

"The door was damaged and nearly off the wall," Jones said.
He added the mother alleged Gaudeau grabbed her wrist and pushed her to the floor. The mother attempted to call 911 and she alleged Gaudreau took it away from her, and she then locked herself in the bathroom where she used a cell phone to call police.

Driver and passenger give fake names
Two Massachusetts residents were arrested last Wednesday on Crandall Road after the driver and passenger gave fake names.
Francis Joseph Carreiro, III, 48, of 451 Renaud St., Fall River, and Barbara A. Pryzbyla, 51, of 463 American Legion Highway, Westport, MA, were both arrested at 9:15 and 9:35 p.m., respectively, on Wednesday, Nov. 16 on Crandall Road. Both were charged with obstructing a police ofifcer. Pryzbyla was also charged with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.
Jones said an officer saw a vehicle traveling south on Crandall Road without any rear lights on. Upon stopping the vehicle, Jones said the officer found its registration was revoked. After making contact with the female driver, later identified as Pryzbala, and the male passenger, later identified as Carreiro, both had no identification but gave names and a date of birth. Jones said the male gave the name "David Carreiro" and the woman gave the name of "Leann."
He said police were able to determine their true identities and took them into custody.
Car owner allegedly leaves pot visible in car
Daniel J. Neronha, 41, of 39 Sawdy Pond Road, Tiverton, was arrested at 6:24 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 1308 Stafford Road. Neronha was charged with possession of marijuana (first offense).
According to Jones, police received a report of two males sitting in a pick-up truck smoking pot outisde . The responding officer came to an empty truck bearing Rhode Island registration. He said the officer checked the rear of the exterior of the truck and could smell "an overwhelming" odor of marijuana.
"An upon shining [his] light in the truck, the officer saw rolling papers on the center console and a plastic baggie containing what he thought was marijuana," Jones said.
He noted police contacted the owner, later identified as Neronha, and charged him with possession.
Fight at high school
Three 17-year-old Tiverton males were arrested at around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15. All received disorderly conduct charges. Jones said the fight happened around 9 a.m. in the hallways that morning between two brothers and a third boy. Jones said threats were made.
The boys were taken into police custody, suspended from school, processed, released to their parents and had their case referred to the juvenile hearing officer, Jones added.
Fight on school bus
A 10-year-old Tiverton boy was taken into custody at 5:16 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14. The boy was with charged with simple assault and battery. Jones said the arrest came from allegations of an assault occurring on a school bus earlier that day.
